How did you meet? What was your first date like? Give us all the details!
In the summer of 2015, Lauren graduated from Duluth and moved back to the cities to start graduate school at Bethel University. Most of her friends were still up in Duluth, with only a few in the cities area, so Lauren decided that she wanted to meet different people, with her top priority being finding a man that loves God.
Since Lauren was in school and surrounded by the same 30 people every day, she signed up on Christian Mingle. Lauren had been on the site for only four days before Luke sent her a message saying, “Your profile looks amazing, but you are just a little too young for me.” For anyone that knows Lauren, she is very sassy and wasn’t about to let Luke tell her she was too young, so she responded saying, “Excuse me sir. Age is just a number and I believe it is all about maturity.” With this being the start, Luke and Lauren met up and had talked for a while at a coffee shop. After they made sure the other wasn’t a weirdo or crazy, Luke already had part two ready, which was a date at the Walker Art Center. This date went really well and the rest, well, is history! Luke and Lauren are so excited to start their future together with first keeping God at the foundation of their marriage. They would love prayers for this process of preparing to be husband and wife and for keeping God at the center of everything that they do!
Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
Since the first date was a huge success, obviously a second date was in order. As Luke and Lauren continued to understand and got to know one another on a deeper level, there was an immediate connection. Problems that seemed to be issues in other relationships did not feel to be complications in their relationship, and well, it felt rather easy to sort through misunderstandings. They realized that their relationship was God-orchestrated and it was His perfect timing that brought them together.
What advice would you give other Christian Mingle members?
Luke’s advice would be to not give up if things don’t work out right the first time. I had to go on several dates before I found the one, and it was completely worth it. Remember to stay completely satisfied in your relationship with the Lord and if he chooses to give you a partner, then be open to His plan!
Lauren’s advice would be to remember to always keep God number one in your life. Pray, pray, pray for absolutely everything going on in your search of finding the right match. Be still and listen for God’s direction and continue to put your faith, hope and comfort in Him as He is the only one that can bear the weight of your troubles. Often, what is missing in your relationship with the Lord is what is missing in your relationship with your significant other. Once you find the one, remember to love them for who they are including their quirks and flaws, and never try to change them. Have fun!
