Samantha & Tyler: "Every bit of it is worth the wait!"

samantha-and-tyler-01How did you meet? What was your first date like? Give us all the details!

We met on Christian Mingle and quickly started talking on Skype. It was a long distance relationship with a few states between us. After a few months of continuous Skype-ing, Tyler flew down to Arizona to surprise me for a few days before Valentine’s Day. He had it all set up and it truly was a surprise! I couldn’t speak for a couple of hours after he showed up. Soon after, he received my parents’ permission to date me and we had our first Valentine’s Day together. Since then, it has been a wonderful and blessed journey of falling in love. True love is not just a fairy tale. I found it and it’s real and amazing.

Describe the moment you knew it was true love!

samantha-and-tyler-02I knew it was true love the first time Tyler flew down to surprise me. It was time for him to head home on his flight and I had to drive him to the airport. I was so frustrated that I had to drive him to his flight so he could leave me. My heart pounded so hard that it skipped a beat when the airport came into view. As he was about to get out of the car, I almost blurted out, “I love you!” But, I didn’t. I almost made him miss his flight because I wouldn’t let him go. I kept trying to get one more kiss, hug or anything that would keep him with me longer.

When he was finally gone from view, I felt my heart break and I could feel tears streaming from my eyes. I realized that I never wanted to let him leave my life. I couldn’t go back to a life without him in it. God had opened my heart, mind and soul to love.

Three months later, we said “I love you” for the first time. Four months from then, he picked me up from the airport and drove six hours straight to get to Lake Superior so he could propose to me at sunrise. And guess what? I said yes!

samantha-and-tyler-03What advice would you give other ChristianMingle members?

It took me three tries on Christian Mingle. It wasn’t until the very last day of my third try that I found the man God made for me. If you’re looking for that “something” that you can’t really describe, but know what it is in your heart, don’t settle for anything but that. After years of searching and praying, that “something” found me. Give your search up to God, live according to His word, praise Him through thick and thin, and He will give you what he has been molding just for you. It’s tough, but don’t give up and don’t settle. Every bit of it is worth the wait.
