Would you drive 1,000 miles just to take someone out on a first date? Christian Mingle member Dillon did just that – and found true love. He and wife Michelle were married December 29, 2016. Christian Mingle is so pleased to have played a role in their love story and wishes them every joy for their future together.
How did you meet? What was your first date like? Tell us all the details!
We met on Christian Mingle. Our first date was amazing, after we met on Christian Mingle and had a initial FaceTime call we both told our friends/family (as crazy it sounds) I think I just talked to my future wife/husband.
My job was moving me down to TX and she was in TX so it worked out perfect that a week after we first FaceTimed I was able to meet Michelle in person. We talked until 3AM on a work night and it was amazing, but that wasn’t the first official date.
I fell for Michelle and could not wait to see her again so I decided to take a 1,000 miler road trip down to TX just to take her on a Saturday night date (my Dad also came with to help drive – crazy awesome). We first started by touring around the square in Denton, TX going to a candy shop, ice cream store, etc. it was off to such a great start, by the time our dinner reservation came around all we could do is stare at each other across the candle lit table.
We were both goners and so much on the same page about everything, most importantly our faith. After dinner we couldn’t help but talk until 2AM again, and man was that goodbye hard but the drive was so worth it.
Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
Well I guess you could say after the first time we talked on FaceTime, we aligned on everything, she was beautiful inside and out. We both told our parents/friends that we thought it was who we are going to marry after the first call 🙂
What advice would you give other Christian Mingle members?
Not to judge a book by the cover, I didn’t message Michelle because I thought she was a crazy religion. Praise God she messaged me, I soon found out she too was a believer and I was way wrong about her churches beliefs.
