After seeing a Christian Mingle commercial something stirred inside of me. It was at that moment that I decided it was time for me to give it to God and let HIM take over this area that I was not submitting His will for me. I had previously tried secular dating websites and those relationships had failed. So, I decided to join Christian Mingle and after just two months I found the most special, unique, perfect partner that God had prepared for me.
Although we grew up thousands of miles apart in two different countries and had completely different lifestyles and cultures, God had brought us both to South Florida. I was originally from New York and Mariza was originally from Guatemala. In spite of all of that diversity, we found common ground as our faith and the desires of our hearts were the same.
We were surprised to find out that we attended the same church in Florida. After communicating back and forth on the website and talking over the phone, we decided to meet on March 8, 2012. From the moment I saw her leap out of her chair to greet me; I felt this overwhelming chill run down my spine. She not only looked so lovely, but it was so evident that the Holy Spirit was alive and inside of her. After much discussion, we both knew that there was something special between us. I had asked God for what I thought the perfect woman would be, and what He had planned was so much more than I could ever asked or imagined for. We are both so thankful for what God has done, and is doing, in our lives
In just eight short months we both knew it was clear that God had commanded us to be together. The day after Thanksgiving on November 23, 2012, in front of our families, at a restaurant in Vero Beach, Florida, I asked Mariza to marry me. Less than two months later on January 18, 2013, we were married. We are expecting our first baby due on July 4, 2014.
We are so thankful for this union and to see what God is doing through Christian Mingle for so many Christians. We love when people ask us how we met and we get the opportunity of sharing our faith, and inviting people to try Christian Mingle. Our advice to Christian singles is to take a step of faith, and see what God can do in your life because God will exceed all your expectations.
