I signed up for a full membership on Christian Mingle on December 30, 2011 because I could not find anyone in my area who I felt shared the same values that I do. Although I communicated with several great men on the site, I did not find anything more than friendship. On January 22, 2012, everything changed when I received a smile from Michael!
As soon as I read the title of his message, I knew that Michael was something special! We continued talking on Christian Mingle until February 8, and then decided to contact each other off of the website. We exchanged numbers so we could text and decided to have our first “phone date” on February 14th. During that phone date, Michael and I talked for 7 hours! We knew we had a unique connection so we decided to meet in person!
On March 3, Mike drove 2 1/2 hours down to where I live so that we could spend the day together. It started off with coffee and then I showed him around my town. For dinner we went to a nice Italian restaurant and even managed to fit in a hockey game afterwards! It was an incredible day! Mike asked me that day if he could see me again and without hesitating, I agreed. Because we live 2 1/2 hours apart, we traded off on weekends to see each other. For the first month, he would come to visit me and then I would go to visit him.
On my 20th birthday, November 30th, after being together for almost 9 months, Michael proposed to me in Chicago! We are thrilled and excited for our wedding day, June 15, 2013!
We are so thankful to Christian Mingle for bringing us together because our paths would have never crossed due to the distance. I have truly found the love of my life and I know that the Lord’s hand was in our relationship from the beginning.
