How did you meet? What was your first date like?
Our how we met story is somewhat comical, as I messaged Erik on Christian Mingle and he didn’t get back to me for 2 weeks. (This was because he was debating on whether paying for the full subscription was worth it to talk to me). In any case, I had forgotten all about messaging him when suddenly one night my phone buzzes. It was Erik, apologizing that he hadn’t purchased the subscription sooner and that he wanted to chat with me. From there we quickly became best friends, exchanging numbers to text and call each other.

After about 2 weeks, he asked me out on a date. However, he lived in San Jose and I lived in Northern California so we were about 5 hours apart. So we decided to meet about halfway in Sacramento for our first date. I got to my hotel early to get ready and on my way down the elevator to meet him I almost fell over because I was so nervous! I got down to the hotel lobby and there he was, smiling and holding a flower bouquet for me.

Once we got the awkward formalities out of the way we headed to the Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner. Once we were seated and eating, I found myself talking as if I had known this man my whole life.
Because we had already been talking over text and call for a few weeks, the transition to in person wasn’t as bad as most first dates are. We both really enjoyed ourselves, and he asked me out on another date after that and the rest is history!
Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
I knew it was the real deal with Erik pretty early on in our friendship/relationship. I can’t pinpoint a specific moment that I knew it was true love, but I do know that love grew very quickly and it wasn’t long before we both said “I love you” to the other person.
The moment we held hands I just knew he wasn’t going anywhere, and I was very okay with that
I guess if I had to pick a certain moment it would be after our second date. He took me to a San Francisco Giants game and we went to the Santa Cruz boardwalk. I remember at the game we were walking out and he asked me if it would be okay to hold my hand. It was just so sweet and the moment we held hands I just knew he wasn’t going anywhere, and I was very okay with that.
