Kimberly and Rich are getting married in just over a week’s time! They were engaged on September 22nd, 2019, with a cute proposal that involved all of their closest friends. Christian Mingle is so pleased to have played a role in their love story and wishes them every joy for their future together.
What can you tell us about the proposal?
“Rich surprised me with an epic proposal. We went to lunch after church one day at a recently renovated ballroom and hotel. After the meal, I suggested checking out the ballroom, playing right into Rich’s surprise. We took the elevator up, and when the doors open, Rich’s three closest friends were there with flowers, a card, and the ring. I was speechless.
The boys opened the doors and we were met with a tulle walkway lined with flowers out to the balcony. After some sweet words of love, Rich went down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes! Rich then played a song we had first danced to at a wedding back when we had first started dating.
The surprise didn’t end there – Rich drove me to my friend’s house where there was a surprise engagement party happening with my closest friends, some from hours away.
He had the whole affair planned for over a month. Five months of dating, five months of engagement, and we are set to marry in two weeks! (02.22.20).”
How did you meet? What was your first date like?
“We met for the stereotypical coffee first date. The date lasted over 3 hours. The chemistry and comparability was obvious from the get-go.”
Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
“I knew within an hour at our first date over coffee. Rich knew after the third date (he picked out the ring that night!).”
What advice would you give other Christian Mingle members, who are still looking for love?
“Be open, but don’t force anything. I had been doing the online thing on and off for years, taking breaks when needed. Rich signed up for an account and I was his first ever date from the site. Take your time. Pray a lot. If God’s hand is in it, he will make that clear!”
