I know God brought us together and He used Christian Mingle to do it
How did you meet? What was your first date like? Give us all the details!
When I first got an account with Christian Mingle I was feeling cheap and didn’t want to pay, I think it was $35, for the account. I decided to search my area to see if it would be worth the money. Haha, I guess it paid off. 😉 There were only three guys that lived in my town. When I saw Nate’s profile and pictures I knew I had to pay the money so I could talk to him!
I loved what he said about himself and his beliefs. I loved his pictures, I loved everything. I was nervous he wouldn’t reply. I can’t remember if he replied that night or the next morning but it didn’t take long for us to go from talking on the site to texting. And within a day I believe we started talking on the phone. We talked a good four hours every time we talked. We never ran out of things to say, never got bored with the conversation. During the first week we talked, he was working and training for his new position for his work in New Mexico, so we didn’t meet each other until a week later. It was nice though, to just talk for hours and get to know each other first. With each day we talked, we both grew more anxious to meet each other!
We met in person on a Friday evening, I even remember what time, 6 pm on a Friday in May. The weather was perfect for Laramie, Wyoming. He was already at the park when I pulled up. I saw a lot of pictures of him before we met but he was even more handsome in person. He walked up to me in this nice, blue, plaid shirt with his hands in his pockets. He smelled so good! I remember thinking, ” I hope this is the first of many dates”. He must have felt the same. 😉 We spent every day from then on with each other.
Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
After we met each other’s families, and we both knew what we wanted in a person and knew that we found that in each other, he asked me to marry him in October of that year (2016). He took me to a waterfall that he grew up near. I knew we wanted to get married but I didn’t see that coming when it did. You know that expression, “weak in the knees”? I know what that feels like now. I couldn’t believe it was happening when he got down on one knee. It took me a few minutes to actually say yes because I was crying. It was one of the happiest days and moments of my life.
We didn’t want a long engagement, so we picked December of 2016. I remember being so nervous right before I walked down the aisle and then after seeing him standing up there looking at me, it was amazing. It might sound cheesy, but when you’re in that moment no one else exists.
What advice would you give other ChristianMingle members?
I don’t remember seeing anyone else in that room. I know God brought us together and He used Christian Mingle to do it. I’m so glad I paid that $35 and took a chance! Thank y’all for offering a site that allows Christians to find other Christians. I found the most amazing, Godly husband who I love more and more every day. I can’t wait to see what else God has in store for us.
