CiCi says Rich is the most thoughtful man she has ever known, and once you read their story you will totally agree! They were married on June 10th, 2016. Christian Mingle is so pleased to have played a role in their love story and wishes them every joy for their future together.
What can you tell us about the wedding?
“We were married in a gazebo on the college campus where we first met in person.”
How did you meet? What was your first date like?
“We met at an African American Heritage Festival on a college campus local to me. We watched some of the performances and speakers and then spent most of the day walking (and walking and walking) around the campus and talking, getting to know each other.”
Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
“That is hard to say because I think I always knew he was the one. But a moment that sticks out was a couple years into our relationship, during a particularly difficult time in my life (4 close family members had passed away in just 5 weeks’ time) and we had gone to a wedding. The only thing I really wanted to do there was have one slow dance together but it seemed the only slow dances were designated for the wedding party or the longest married couple, etc. So it didn’t happen.
Rich asked if I minded stopping at a local park on the way home to go for a walk. I said OK but I really wasn’t in the best of moods. We walked up a path to the top of a hill (in the dark) and he was messing with his phone the whole time (which made me more irritated because I didn’t know why he would be texting while we were walking).
When we got to the top of the hill, it became clear what he was actually doing with his phone when music began to play (‘The Closer I Get to You’ by Roberta Flack) and he gave me the slow dance I had wanted. What was even more amazing was that fireworks began shooting over our heads! Of course he took credit for those as well! He has always been the most thoughtful man I have ever known!”
What advice would you give other Christian Mingle members, who are still looking for love?
