Alyssa and Wesley met on Christian Mingle and realized that they had something truly special, that this was the Lord showing them what true love is like. They were married on June 8th, 2018. How did you meet? What was your first date like? Tell us all the details!
We initially met on Christian Mingle. After a week or so of chatting on Christian Mingle and text, we decided to meet up face to face. Our first date was at Starbucks near Alyssa’s house. I remember it was like yesterday. My job at the time was right down the street from the Starbucks. I had to change at work, and all my coworkers can see how nervous I was.
We met around 7PM that night and didn’t end the date until 1AM. We just kept talking and walking around for 6 hours. We didn’t even realize what time it was. Yes, we seen everyone around Starbucks leave, but we didn’t care. We were so focused on each other.
Our sarcastic humor and our love for the Lord made us inseparable right then and there. After that, we tried to see each other as much as we can.
Alyssa lived 45min from my house. Alyssa is not the best at driving distances, so I was happy enough to make the drive three times a week…at least! I was leasing a car at the time. But the time our 1 year of dating came around, I had to trade in my car because I was going over my miles. It was all worth it though.
Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
After being hurt in the past, it was hard for me to imagine to love someone again for a long time. But the Lord showed me what true love should be and who it should be with. I was shown from the Lord that Alyssa is the Godly Women that I need in my life. God presented me with someone that has God’s beauty inside and beauty on the outside.
This feeling of Love was different than I ever felt before with Alyssa. Every time I would look at Alyssa I felt this Love and Joy that I never experienced. That is when I knew it was true love. I asked Alyssa one time how she knew it was true love. As me, Alyssa wanted to make sure that this was true love she was feeling and not just a “puppy crush” feeling. She told me it was how I acted around my family. Alyssa loves family time and being around family. So when she saw how I care and love my family, she knew it was love right there. She loved how I interacted with my Niece and Nephew. How I devote time to every individual in my family.
What advice would you give other Christian Mingle members?
God will provide you the right spouse for you. It may take time. Alyssa told me that it took her many years to find me. Much prayer and waiting brought her to me. Don’t get discouraged or lose hope. Look to the Lord for patience and guidance.
