Alisha and Aaron’s first weeks of marriage were truly such a testing and traumatic time, but by the grace of God they still have each other today. They were married on June 29th, 2019. Christian Mingle is so pleased to have played a role in their love story and wishes Aaron a continued recovery, and the both of them a brighter future together from here on out.
What can you tell us about the wedding?
“We met on Christian mingle January 2019. Aaron lived in North Carolina and I lived in Tennessee. We both prayed before the date, ‘God if this is the person you want me to be with let me know the second we meet’. And it was love at first sight! Neither of us believed in love at first sight until that moment. We had a whirlwind romance and got engaged May 22nd. I moved to North Carolina and we got married June 29th.
We went on our week honeymoon to Florida and after we were back for 2 days Aaron was in a horrible car accident. He was coming home from work and a car hydroplaned, crossed 2 lanes of traffic and hit him. He broke his femur, tibial, fibula, and ankle. He went in for surgery the next morning and didn’t wake up from surgery. They did a MRI scan and found that he had a fatty embolism from his femur brake. The bone marrow went in his bloodstream and into his brain causing multiple mini strokes. His body then started shutting down and they had to put him on the ventilator. There was a less then 1% chance of the fatty embolism happening.
They took him to ICU and told us that he would probably never wake up. And if he did he would probably have brain damage. I told the doctor, ‘I don’t know if you believe in God but he’s going to wake up and he’s going to be OK!’ After 9 long days he woke up! And has no brain damage! He had complications from his surgery which has left him with 8 surgeries now and an open wound for months.
We are finally reaching the end of this and are so blessed to have each other. We are so thankful that Christian Mingle brought us together. My husband is the most amazing man! And he is alive only by the grace of God. Thank you guys for having a place for Christians to find the person God has chosen for them.”
How did you meet? What was your first date like?
“We met in my hometown in Cookeville, TN.”
Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
“It was love at first sight for both of us.”
