How did you meet? What was your first date like?
“I had just joined Christian Mingle, and my husband was the 1st person I talked with. We talked on the phone almost every day, and he said he did not want to date anyone with kids, but he’d like us to be friends and hang out sometime. He was the first person to talk with me, and we agreed to meet at Cranes Roost in Altamonte Springs, FL, to walk around and see if we got along before heading to dinner at OG. We pulled into parking beside each other, and after walking and talking, we went to dinner, and then he asked if we could go walking around Cranes Roost more as we were both very impressed with each other, he was 100% a gentleman and it was getting late so he asked if he could take me and [my] son out the next day and then we were attached and my son really liked him as well. He proposed to me in March. We were 100% sure that this was God putting us together. We have been married 11 years and we are looking for many, many more.”
Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
“After we spent every day together for weeks and he came to my church every Sunday AM, Sunday PM and Wednesday nights and we were talking late one night and I said I was out of my Diet Coke and would have a rough work day without it and the next morning it was in my car with a note-that’s when I knew he was for me- God had a plan.”
What can you tell us about the proposal?
“I needed to go to St. Petersburg to drop off my older son, and he asked if we could just stay at a hotel on the beach overnight and then enjoy time together. The next day, we were walking down the beach, and he took my hand, brought out a beautiful ring, and proposed. Of course, I said yes, yes, yes.”
What can you tell us about the wedding?
“It was a simple wedding as we had both been married previously. Our Pastor did the ceremony and my family and his family came to the church and then it was followed by dinner at Olive Garden and then we headed to Daytona Beach with our 7 shared kids (thankfully they are all older and out of the house except for my 4yo) for a few days.”
What advice would you give other Christian Mingle members who are still looking for love?
“Trust in God, as he has a perfect plan for your life and I think that as long as you put God in the middle and pray about the desire to be married and have a family and wait for his plan and lean not onto your own understanding.”
