Maiya and Elliott met for a coffee date in downtown Minneapolis, but what was meant to be a quick meet-up turned into a four-hour walk neither of them wanted to end. From that first day, it was clear they had a connection, and just a few months later, they were already talking about marriage.

How did you meet? What was your first date like?
We met up for coffee downtown, and what was supposed to be just a simple coffee date led to a four-hour walk around Minneapolis. It was extremely hot that day, but neither of us wanted the day to end!
Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
Everything just felt right. We only dated a few months before talking about marriage—fast forward four months, and we got engaged.
What can you tell us about the proposal?
He drove around for what seemed like forever with me covering my eyes. We finally got to our destination, and he told me to open my eyes. There was a puzzle for me to put together on my lap, which was a picture of us with our favorite Bible verse on it. Then he had written me a long note to read that told me to go to the backyard. It was decorated beautifully with flowers, lights, and more, and he was standing there waiting for me with so many roses around. It was perfect.
What can you tell us about the wedding?
We got married in the middle of COVID, so it was just our parents and a few good friends. It was a perfect day and so special.
What advice would you give other Christian Mingle members who are still looking for love?
