We just wanted to let you know how happy we are and how thankful we are for Christian Mingle, since you are responsible for our meeting each other!
On 11/19/03 I sent him (alias “Flame”)a smile. He responded a few days later and called me (alias “Stardust”) on 12/5/03. We had a six-hour conversation that night, linking us from Alaska to New Orleans.
There was a special bond that occurred that night – both of us felt that we had met our true love – our soulmate. I had been a widow for that last 23 years and he had been divorced for several years after a thirty-year marriage. We exchanged additional photos on your website and sent romantic emails to each other daily.
We talked about our first meeting. Please understand that this would not be an ordinary meeting – as he would be traveling over 4,000 miles to meet me! It would be very important for us to know that it was God’s will for us to meet. We prayed about this each time we talked on the telephone and, after several confirmations from God to each of us, we decided that it was time to meet. We also discussed the possibility of marriage, if our first meeting resulted in the chemistry we had imagined.
On February 11, 2004, my “Flame” arrived at the New Orleans airport, where he met his “Stardust” in person for the first time. We stared at each other, had a stranger take our picture together, talked and hugged. Then we experienced our first kiss – which was even more than we had dreamed of!
That night he proposed to me and offered me an engagement ring which he had purchased in Alaska. I accepted his proposal. The next day we drove to Destin, Florida and stayed at a friend’s home (in separate accommodations, of course). On Friday, February 13th (no, we are not superstitious!) our friends drove us to Fort Walton Beach, Florida where we purchased our marriage license. On Saturday, we were married at our friend’s home by a pastor from the area.
Today we are happier than ever and planning our move to Portland, Oregon where we will reside. Love after fifty is wonderful! God gave us a gift in each other to treasure forever! Thanks so much for your inspiration! May He bless you abundantly!
