I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I gave Christian Mingle another try. I would have been content to meet someone who I got along with, and who had the potential to grow into something more. By the grace of God though, I met Amanda.
We emailed for a while before we met, and they were long and well-written emails. So when I met her for the first time, I was already comfortable; like I knew her, if only through the written word. We hit it off on our first date, which was just a casual stroll around her college campus. Things continued to pick up, and we never looked back.
We prayed about our relationship, spent a lot of time together, communicated often, went on countless dates, and it wasn’t long before we both knew that this was a “God thing.” No coincidences, nothing left to chance.
We recently went on vacation, at which time I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She responded with a tear-filled, emphatic “YES!” We have a wedding date set for early May of next year and couldn’t possibly be happier together.
Being that we both have awesome senses of humor, we often joke that we owe Christian Mingle a fruit basket for bringing us together. Honestly though, the potential of Christian Mingle is worth the investment. Neither Amanda nor I could have possibly imagined that we would meet our soul mate, but we thank God daily that we did.
