We are both looking forward to spending a lifetime together!

John and I met on Christian Mingle in January of 2010. I was immediately interested in John because he shared the Gospel in his profile and I thought that was a wonderful way to use technology to witness. Despite the fact that I lived in Toronto, Canada and he lived in Raleigh NC, I sent him an email and he responded by the next day. We seemed to have many things in common, the most important of which was that we both loved the Lord. Neither of us would settle for less because we didn't want to be unequally yoked. We continued to email each other daily and our relationship became deeper and closer. Both of us were in love with each other at this point even though we hadn't met in person. We eventually met in March of 2010 when John arranged for us to meet in a beautiful botanical garden where we had a picnic lunch and then went for a long walk. Although we had been talking on line for a few months we were both still nervous about meeting face-to-face, but within a short amount of time it was clear that there was an attraction. John and I continued to email and Skype after our one week meeting in March and he proposed to me on April 25, 2010. We are currently awaiting a fiance visa for me so that I can move down to the US and work after we get married. The wedding date is dependent on when the visa goes through. We are both looking forward to spending a lifetime together! We would both like to thank Christian Mingle for their wonderful on-line dating service and for giving us the opportunity to meet!

I knew that we had found something special together.

David and I sent sporadic, "hi, how are you doing", messages back a forth over a 4 month period in between meeting up with others. Finally I asked if were were going to meet or what...so we hooked up and from that first night I knew that we had found something special together.

Taking a risk outside our comfort zones definitely paid off.

Steve and I kept reading each other's profiles, so we both knew there was some level of interest, but there were things on each of our profiles that were outside of our comfort zones. For example, on mine, I learned that my position at work was intimidating to him. On his, I was not certain about whether I would be comfortable dating someone just an inch taller than me. And... our careers were very different. Both of us took a risk and started chatting through the CM instant messenger function. We bantered and had so much fun teasing and getting to know each other. We kept this up for a couple of hours each evening for about two weeks before we ever even heard each other's voice. We actually scheduled a phone date to occur while I was driving back from a weekend trip to my hometown. For me, it was so funny to hear his actual voice since I was soooo familiar with the way he spoke through the written word. We kept chatting in the evenings, exchanging cards and sparks as we got to know each other even better. And then, he asked if I would meet him for lunch the next Saturday. Well, we talked over lunch for three hours and he asked me out for the 4th of July. We've been an item ever since. We both learned that taking a risk outside our comfort zones definitely paid off. We are having so much fun getting to know each other and cannot wait to see what God has in store for us. Thank you Christian Mingle!!

It was a whirlwind.

I lived in Fort Worth, TX and a friend had told me about ChristianMingle. I was skeptical of the whole online dating scene, but figured I would give it a shot. Why not, right? I had been on the site for approx 2 months, with no luck, when I saw one day that a match had been found for me that was 100% compatible. I could tell that he had already looked over my profile, but he hadn’t sent me a message. Of course, I thought he was cute, but my interest was sparked intensely by the fact that we matched perfectly together. So, I emailed him just to find out more. We talked on the site for only a day and a half before going to the phone. It didn’t take us long to become attached. We both knew after about 3 weeks that we would marry each other, regardless of the fact that we hadn’t actually seen each other in person yet! One of the big factors in making our relationship work was the distance. As I mentioned, I was in Fort Worth & he lived in Lake Charles, LA, approx 400 miles away. Neither one of us was crazy about having a long distance relationship; however the connection between us was so strong that it was worth figuring out. After talking for a month, we finally met in person; Matt came to Fort Worth for the weekend. We kept telling ourselves that we weren’t going to make any official decisions until after we met in person, to guarantee that we were truly compatible in person. Well, to no one’s surprise, as soon as we saw each other’s face, it was over. We were in love & we would do whatever necessary to make it work. Matt proposed to me during my first trip to Lake Charles, after only 6 weeks of knowing each other. It then became an issue of figuring out who was going to relocate. We both had great church homes, as well as family & friend ties in each city; however Matt’s tie to his church was so strong that he wasn’t willing to leave it. So, I, willingly, took a huge leap of faith; left my family, friends, church & a good job to move to Louisiana. I made the move only 2 1/2 months after we first started talking on the site! Everyone thought we were both crazy & were moving way too quickly, but we knew better & knew that God ultimately had His hand on this! Once I moved, we started planning the wedding. We knew that God had brought us together & knew we would be together forever, so we wanted to start our life as husband and wife as quickly as possible; why put it off when we knew this was the ultimate goal. As with our entire relationship thus far, it was a whirlwind. We got married on June 6, 2009 in Lake Charles, LA. It was 3 days shy of us having been together for 6 months!! Our wedding was absolutely beautiful, to say the least! It was everything we had always dreamed of and more. We just celebrated our 1 year anniversary and it has been the greatest year. We owe everything to ChristianMingle! We thank you for your service and for allowing God to work to bring people like us together, including skeptics like me. Praise God for our marriage & may He continue to bless us and all the others He’s brought together through this site.

I'm so grateful that God blessed me with her!

I had been on the site a couple of years ago, but forgot all about it for a while. One day I decided to check an old email address that I hadn't been using for a while which was linked to my ChristianMingle account. I was looking through at some of the girls who sent me stuff and I came across this one girl named Alison. I started by clicking on her profile and I started emailing and instant messaging her. We starting talking in the summer when I was away for an internship, so I didn't get to meet her until it was done, 2 months later. So I finally met her and we've been together for almost a year! She's the sweetest, kindest, most caring person ever and I'm so glad she is in my life. I'm so grateful that God blessed me with her!
