Success Stories: 2012: Kat & John
Johnny and I met on ChristianMingle in April 2011. The immediate connection we made had to do with our shared passion for Jesus Christ and our desire to find a partner who believed in the gifts of the Spirit. After e-mailing for a month, we met in person in Port Angeles, Washington which was the halfway point between where I lived (Seattle, WA) and Johnny lived (Victoria, British Columbia). We instantly felt attracted to each other. However, we both made a commitment to take things slow and to seek God’s plan for our lives.
Weeks turned into months of a long distance romance. We had confirmation through various circumstances that God was calling us to be married. On December 29, 2011, Johnny drove me to an isolated beach on Vancouver Island, Canada, sat me down on a wet log with a heart shaped branch behind it, got down on one knee and prosed to me. I said “Yes” and we shared our first kiss!
The immigration process was long and frustrating, but God used that time to strengthen our love for each other. On October 30, 2012, Johnny’s visa was approved and he moved here to Seattle. We were married on November 30, 2012, the happiest day of my life!
Johnny and I can’t thank ChristianMingle enough for making it possible for us to meet each other and move into God’s blessing.

Q&A from Kat & John
- Q. What is your advice to ChristianMingle members hoping to find love?
- A. Probably the most important advice I’d give to anyone reading my testimonial is to take courage, to know that God’s timing is perfect, and to believe that He honors those who wait. Johnny had been waiting faithfully and walking in purity for five years (he was divorced) while I had been waiting and walking in purity for over 20 years. Those years came with trials, temptations, frustrations, and impatience but never once did I feel hopeless or like God had forgotten my prayers. I had prayed that God would one day provide me with a man who had a passion for Jesus and He blessed me with a peace that one day that prayer would be answered. Although I was 51 when my prayer for a husband was finally answered, I praise God that I waited and that I trusted God.
