April and Larry

Many people have asked Larry and I how we met and fell in love. I have thought of many ways to tell or explain our story, but all I can say is go God!!

We met on ChristianMingle. At first we weren’t looking for what the other one had to offer…I had never been married and did not have children, while Larry was divorced with two children. So, we overlooked one another. Larry took the first step and contacted me, but I was hesitant. Thankfully, I decided to just email him and see what happened. A month later we decided to meet as we had really gotten to know one another through emails. We believed that in one meeting we would know if there was chemistry. Well, the chemistry was definitely there! We were both instantly attracted to each other and deeply enjoyed talking and getting to know each other even more.

That’s how it started. As time has gone on we have found running as a combined interest, we worship at the same church, and pray with and for each other. We both enjoy visiting places in the city and trying new things. Most importantly, we laugh together…a lot.

It was not long after dating, that Larry and I knew God had brought us into each others lives for a purpose. The first of that being, we are getting married! On September 8, 2011, Larry proposed in a very sweet and tender way by sharing photos of our summer together with his boys. Of course, I said YES as I knew he was the man that God had for me.

We were married on November 26th with family and a few friends surrounding us, sure that God is only beginning His plan in our lives. I am now a step-mom to two amazing boys, and the wife to the man of my dreams.

Jenni & Kyle

Kyle and I met on ChristianMingle in April of 2010. After only a few emails he got the nerve to ask meet for dinner. We connected instantly. Kyle is like no man I had ever met before. He is funny, kind, loving, and a true man of God.

We started dating, which was tough since we lived over an hour away from each other, but we were madly in love from the start. That July Kyle booked a trip to New York that would change our lives. On New Years Eve, in New York City, Kyle asked me to marry him. It felt like all of our dreams were coming true!

We planned out our perfect wedding and eight months later we become husband and wife! Our heads are still spinning at the idea of meeting on a dating website, but ChristianMingle made things so easy for us! We couldn't be happier and look forward to what God has in store for us in the years to come.

Alison & Chester

In 2004, Chester and I both experienced a devastating year. In the exact same month, we both lost our spouses and became widowed. Throughout this season of loss and devastation, we never dreamed of finding love again, but God had a different plan for us.

In April 2006, we were both members on ChristianMingle, and had joined primarily to get back into the social scene and meet new friends. We met a lot of wonderful people on the site and felt comfortable with the community. After both sating YES on the Secret Admirer feature, we began to email one another. We quickly discovered that we had experienced similar situations in losing our spouses, and the grief that comes with it. We were thrilled and excited to feel that instant connection to one another. After the first conversation on ChristianMingle Chester actually said he felt so much more than friendship. And, after those first few chats we knew in our hearts we would never part.

We saw many success stories on ChristianMingle who thought they were far apart from each other by living in different States, but we were an Ocean apart! Chester lived in the US and I lived in Cyprus, so we were nearly 6,000 miles apart. The distance wasn’t easy, but when you find true love like we did, nothing was going to stop us from having faith in God that we would be somehow be together. After almost one year of emailing, Skpe and countless text messages, we actually managed to save enough money, so that I could visit Chester.

In May 2007 Chester and I made it official and got engaged, while I was visiting him in the states! Less than two years later, on Valentine’s Day we were married in North Carolina. It was the most perfect day!

Here we are almost three years later, married and more in love each day! God brought us together by way of ChristianMingle and we are so thankful for that and continue to grow in love and happiness.

THANKS GOD….

I’ve checked out single sites over the years, but never found anyone that seemed compatible. While checking ChristianMingle, I received a message from someone that had a profile that intrigued me, not like any I’d seen before. So I signed up just to respond to him. After one phone call, we agreed to meet on October 26, 2010 at Starbucks. He lived just three miles away! I assumed that I would find something wrong with him, and then go on just as I had for the past years…alone.

But I didn’t.

When we saw each other’s smile, we knew we had an immediate connection. After that evening, we spent as much time as possible together. Our love grew every day!

I always wanted to date a while before marrying, but we decided that there was no reason to wait; that God had obviously brought us together. Three months after meeting, on February 1, 2011, we went to Gatlinburg, Tennessee and were married in a wedding chapel. It was a storybook wedding and honeymoon shared in a beautiful mountain cabin. Only God could have orchestrated everything to work out so perfectly. Our transition to married life has been seamless, and we are so grateful to have each other.

We are glad that we didn’t “settle” and trusted God to bring that special love in to our life and in His perfect timing. He truly answered our many prayers in a way that was much more perfect than we both imagined.

We look forward to spending a great life together. Thanks to Christian Mingle and…Thanks God.

James and Jane

In June of 2010, James was randomly searching through the ChristianMingle photo gallery when one picture caught his eye. Her name was Jane and she was pretty, so he added her to his Favorites folder. He also noticed that she was living in Ottawa, Canada...2,800 miles from his home in Los Angeles. So he left her among his "favorites" and did nothing.

Jane saw that someone had added her to his Favorites folder...and that someone was ignoring her. So she decided to contact him: "Would you like to chat sometime?" And so it began.

Over the next months, they emailed and chatted and confessed their love and broke up three times and got back together three times. Then in December they finally met in person in Toronto, on a Sunday, and attended church together. They knew then that they never wanted to be apart.

Part they did, Jane back to Ottawa and James to Los Angeles. Three weeks later, however, Jane found herself in LA, visiting James, the two of them once more swearing never to part.

Soon it was goodbye again. Jane decided that 2,800 miles of separation was too easy, so she moved back to her former home in Edinburgh, Scotland...an additional 3,100 miles from LA. Now that was a challenge!

The match made in Mingle would not be put asunder. More correspondence, more longing, more heartache.

Two months later, in February of 2011, Jane returned to the States and this time never would leave. In April, James and Jane determined to marry. In May, they did just that.

Thank you, Father God, and thank you, Christian Mingle, for bringing together two people who...on their own...never would have known of each other's existence.

Bill and Tish

Last November I noticed Tish's picture and then read her profile; I was very impressed. I emailed her and said “It’s too bad we lived so far away from each other”. We started emailing on ChristianMingle. There were a lot of Bible discussions in our emails. We are both born again Christians. One night just after Thanksgiving Tish IMed me. We started chatting, which is a bit of a chore for me, seeing that I do not type.

Side note: for the past 30 or so years I have gotten up early each day and read the Bible and prayed. So as we are chatting I asked her how she knew so much about the Bible. She replied back that she gets up early each morning reads the Bible and prays!!! Major goose/Spirit bumps here. So I asked her for her phone number. She asked if I was going to call to which I responded “No, I want you to go out on your lawn, face north, I'll get on my roof and yell and type back if you can hear me”. We're 450 miles apart!

I called that night and we talked a very long time. For about the next ten days to two weeks I called three or four time a week. Tish asked me one Sunday if I would call more often. So I started calling her each morning before work and we would read the Bible together and pray. I found out the name of her favorite restaurant in Carson City was Kim Lee’s; a sushi place. Around Christmas time I sent an email to her regular address and I asked her if Kim Lee’s took reservations? She was shocked and excited. I told her that “win lose or draw I had to meet her.”

So I flew down in January, got a hotel room and we went to dinner. Fell madly in love. I only spent one night in the hotel room and after that on a couch in her family room. Tish said that she didn’t think any axe murders could know the Bible as well as me. I had bought Mizpa necklaces for each of us. They each have half of the verse: "may the Lord watch between me and thee when we are absent from one another." When I flew down again in February I asked her to marry me and gave her a ring. Tish started calling me her K.I.S.A. (knight in shinning armor) and she is my lady.

God has blessed us in many ways and we have been faithful to Him. We were married on October 28th in a Victorian/1860’s style wedding in Virginia City NV. For part of our wedding we took 1st Corinthians 13 and changed the word “love” to our names and each read a line out loud. Not a dry eye in the house! We are madly in love and still read the Bible together on the phone 7 days a week. On our wedding night I gave Tish a Bible with her “new” name on it. We read Song of Songs to each other before we went to sleep. God has blessed us in so many ways and now seems to be leading me to move to Carson City. So if you have a moment say a prayer for a job for me there.

And it all started on ChristianMingle.com! Praise the Lord and pass the biscuits!

Thanks again for your wonderful ministry to Christian singles.

Chris and Debbie

I met Chris on Christian Mingle July 29 2011. I signed up June 29th for three months, Chris signed up two weeks later and only for a month. I believe that if I had not signed up for three months we would have just missed connecting with each other. So I am thankful to our Lord and Savior that He had me sign up for three months.

I basically asked the Lord to lead me to the right person that He has for me. Someone that I can spend the rest of my life with as my helpmate/soul mate and best friend, sharing the Word of God, praying and worshiping our God together.

Chris told the Lord, he was ready to meet that person that God had for him. He had the same desires to study the Bible together, worship and pray together. As we both have stood on His promises. Psalm 37: 3-4, 7 “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this for you. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently on Him”

We connected on our first phone call, we spoke on the phone for four hours the first night, and on our first meet, we knew we had something special. That night we committed to doing a forty day challenge to spend every day in His Word. God has used the Purpose Driven Life to minister to our hearts as well as united our hearts together. We knew after a week of being together that we were meant to be, it is the beginning of a life time of growing in the Lord together.

Chris and I right off the bat starting praying ad asking the Lord if we were supposed to be together to unite our hearts together, if we were not supposed to be together, the Lord would allow us to go our separate ways. We started doing a bible study right off the bat and prayed together, he would pray over me and I would pray over him. We continue to read the word together every day and pray together.

The Lord has mighty plans for us, our testimony of what the Lord has done in each of our lives. We can be a powerhouse for the Lord and His work, and we are ready for Him to use us for His glory and honor.

Sharing a love that we have desired our whole lives, October 9, 2011 Chris and I got engaged, our wedding is January 14th 2012. We believe meeting on Christian Mingle, was a divine appointment from our God. We thank Him everyday for allowing us to meet.

We want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts that God used your site to allow our paths to cross. We are forever grateful and we are counting down the days until we are able to unite as one.

Psalm 28:7 "The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in HIM, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to HIM in song."
Neh 8:10 " The Joy of the Lord is my strength."

Rick and Linda

I had been on Christianmingle for a few weeks and had several inquires on my profile from ladies interested in me. I was polite and thanked them, some with just smiles. I had emailed several back but no phone numbers were given out.

On Saturday morning, June 4th, I sat down to my computer and began to check my emails. All of a sudden an email came in from Christianmingle.com that there was a nearly perfect match with the compass I had filled out. I went to your site, to see who this lady was and there appeared a woman with the handle “IVVCMightyWomanofGod” and she was absolutely beautiful.

On my profile introduction I said I was looking for a lady, who when entering a room, would turn every head with not only her outward beauty but the Devine, Attractive, Personality of Christ of her inward beauty. When I saw her eyes and looked at her name, I was smitten. I felt in my heart, at that moment, I had found the woman of my dreams and I honestly believe it was love at first sight.

I emailed her that morning and she replied with an email and said she would be gone for the day but would email me again later. I sent another email that night and she responded. The next day Linda had gone to church and God gave her a word for me. She came home emailed me the word from the Lord. We also exchanged phone numbers that day and I called her that evening.

Our journey was rocky the next week or so. So many unanswered questions, but we worked thru them. I was ready to throw in the towel at one time, when God reminded me, she was the one. I'm glad I didn't quit.

We have talked on the phone everyday since then and have developed a relationship that has turned into loving one another. I have moved to Oklahoma City, where Linda lives. I have already gained employment here. I have asked her to marry me and she has accepted. I proposed to her on July 8th and gave her an engagement ring that same evening. We are planning on a short engagement.

We are both of the same faith and will be able to attend the same church together. We will be able to have daily prayer together and study Gods Word together. We are in our early 60s and are excited about starting a brand new life together with Christ being our center.

Thank you again, without Christianmingle, this could have never happened.

Tammy and Marty

We started communicating on your website the end of July last year. The initial contact was by me because his dog looked almost identical to a dog that I had adopted the year before. This had been the first time I had ever gone on a singles website. Although we had a lot in common, Marty & I decided at the end of August to continue weighing our dating options and decided not to meet in person.

I cancelled my subscription with Christian Mingle; after we both tried other sites, and had a few dates that didn't exactly turn out, I went back to Christian Mingle. On December 15 I found Marty again. We started talking and finally met on Valentines Day of this year. We brought our look-alike-dogs with us so they could meet as well. We stayed in a cozy cabin in Indiana that had a warm fire place where we sat and talked for hours about our past and our future and found that we had a lot in common: Concerts we had been to, what we like and don't like to eat, movies we enjoy, our love for animals, travel, family, hobbies, cooking...you name it! We had so much love to give and found that we had both been praying for the same thing and God had answered both of our prayers. That is where we fell in love!

Later, he came to Michigan to meet my family and friends and I came to Tennessee to meet his in April. We went to Cade's Cove in the Smokey Mountains where he took me by a beautiful creek and told me how much he loved me and asked me to marry him. His kindness, morals, ethics, tenderness, affection, love, caring and his belief in God and marriage is only a few reasons why I fell in love. The main reason is,he treats me better than I could have ever imagined someone treating me. I feel so happy and so lucky and it's all thanks to Christian Mingle!

We were married on July 2, 2011 and had a reception in Michigan. We went to Biltmore Estates in North Carolina for our honeymoon. We now reside in Sweetwater, TN where We take our identical dogs for a walk every night and thank the lord they got us together. We plan on living happily ever after...God willing.

Some advice for other singles: Love knows no distance; I lived in Michigan and he lived in Tennessee. The day after the wedding, I moved to Tennessee and do not regret ever leaving my home town.

Also, if you find yourself going on dates that don't work out, don't get discouraged as it is God's way of ensuring you appreciate the right one once you find them.
