Students for Life of America

Leonard Leo
Students for Life of America (SFLA) began as American Collegians for Life at Georgetown University in 1988. Since then, it has evolved into a national non-profit organization with a professional staff. SFLA works to provide students with the resources they need to overturn Roe v. Wade and to end abortion. SFLA recognizes that college students are the future generation of leaders and activists within the pro-life movement and yet have been an overlooked sector of pro-life activity. In the past, the college pro-life movement has lacked stability. Typically a campus group will start, grow, see the active members graduate, and will, all too often, struggle to overcome this transition. SFLA is working to reverse this trend. The mission of Students for Life of America is to: educate pro-life college students about the issues of abortion, euthanasia, and infanticide; identify pro-life student leaders; equip college pro-lifers with the training, skills and resources to be effective and successful; promote student activity to other local, college and national groups.

Redeem the Vote

R. Randolph Brinson, MD
Redeem the Vote (RTV) was founded by Dr. Randy Brinson during the 2004 U.S. Presidential Election to register people of faith regardless of party affiliation, or personal political beliefs, but as a matter of Christian principle, that people of faith must be engaged in the political debate and vote as a matter of moral imperative. Modeled after MTV’s “Rock the Vote” youth-voter registration campaign, Redeem the Vote enlists the help of many well-known Contemporary Christian musicians to register young evangelicals and promote political participation Since its inception, the organization has continued to reach out to both parties in an effort to find the best in both, and find solutions to the debate, not trump or destroy one person or party. Brinson claims, “This is in stark contrast to many of those conservative Christian organizations that seek to develop a partisan mentality and approach to problems that have solutions beyond partisan rhetoric. In fact, some believe the development of working relationships between Democrats and Republicans may even be counterproductive in the sense that large sums of money would be difficult to raise if their was no battle to be fought, or political enemy to be slain.”
