About The Ministry
Founding Pastor Arlie Whitlow moved to Sterling, Virginia in August 1982 to begin the Community Church. The first service was held on September 14, 1982 with 35 people in attendance. There was neither a church building or any assets. There was only a dream that God would raise up a wonderful place where people could know Him and raise their families in a Godly environment. The reason Community Church exists is quite simple; God has called them to be a HOSPITAL�a community of healing for all people. HOSPITAL stands for 8 key initiatives: Helping the Hurting. Outreach to the World. Serving our Community. Preaching the Good News. Involvement in Ministry. Teaching God�s Word. Adoration of God. Leadership Development.
